In the words of Scar from the Lion King, ‘Vote for me, and you will never go hungry again!!!!’
More seriously, I think it’s really important that we talk to people and help them get interested in and excited about science when they are young, so that’s why I want to do chemistry workshops in Primary schools.

Because I want to teach people about crystallography. It’s been said that crystallography is the most important science of the 20th century that no one has heard of. I think it’s very true. Crystallography allowed us to see and understand things that we had never ever seen or understood before and I want to show and tell people about it.

Well, I had a long think about what to do if I won the money. I was involved in a dancing statistics Youtube project a few years ago and we got over 100 000 views, I’d love to run another project and reach out to so many people again. Visualising some of the concepts I work with can be tricky (and boring for lots of people). I want to show that they aren’t boring and can unlock lots of interesting things, it’s just that learning them from a textbook or being told about them in a classroom isn’t always the best way to really understand them!
