There are a couple of reasons why I do a lot of maths and the first reason is the main reason why you should do anything:

      1) Because I love it!

From an early age I really enjoyed doing lots of mathematical sums and multiplications. But now that I’m older and have done much more maths I’ve seen that I can use maths to do much more than sums. That leads me on to the next reason why I do maths:

      2) Maths can be used to explain the world around us.

People may have told you that maths can be used everywhere. That’s pretty much true. To understand how things work we need to use maths. With words written in English, we can say things that are false. However maths gives definite answers and that means that the maths will tell you if you’re wrong or if you’re right.
I’m willing to bet that every single scientist in the world has to use maths in some way or another, I just might do a bit more than many other scientists.
