My eye sight got worse and I needed glasses then I got diagnosed with Asthma. I was unlikely to get selected with glasses but not impossible, it became impossible when I got asthma, you can’t fly at those speeds at altitude where oxygen is limited anyway when you can’t breathe properly at ground level 🙁
It all worked out for the best though, I’m not too good as taking orders which wouldn’t have gone down too well in the RAF and I love being a scientist so no regrets! 🙂
