Honestly I’m not sure about this question if I look far into the future. The problem is that Cybernetic implants is still quite young compared to genetic modification. So for the near future, genetic modification will be more common.

With that said, I think genetic modification has a bad reputation because people misunderstand it. Genetic modification is just a change in the DNA of a cell. It happens to us everyday. Growing crops that are selected to be big is a form of genetic modification. In general it wont cause Spiderman-like mutations. If we understand our genetic makeup better than we would be more likely to cure certain diseases too. So I’m a big fan of genetic modification and I hope to see more of it (the good kind of genetic modification anyway).

I don’t know too much about Cybernetic implants but from what I can tell, it will be incredibly hard to do. But I think it will change people’s lives, especially those that have lost bodily functions.

I hope that helps answer your question. In short I think they’ll both be big in the future but for now GM will be more common because I think we know slightly more about it at this stage
