It’s basically the theory of evolution. The basic idea behind the theory of evolution is that all the different species have evolved from simple life forms. The theory states that this evolution came about by natural selection. Natural selections occur because creatures with genes that give characteristics more useful for surviving in their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce than creatures without those particular genes. Over time, a species evolves.
