Well, I did a BSc and an MSc at University (BSc was at Salford University, and MSc at TrinityLaban), so I suppose that’s where I started properly studying science. The ‘data science’ work I do I’m mostly self-taught. I learnt statistics at University, but did lots for my own research. I didn’t like the systems I had available at University so I wrote my own analysis programmes, and some of my own methods too! This got me in to a job which looking at knowledge representation (a type of Artificial Intelligence) and then I moved on to what I’m doing now.
