Question: hello,so your main intention is too make a pocket sized power station how much energy would it produce? and would be an efficent methord of creating energy?
The hydrogen fuel cells I’m talking about (they are called proton exchange membrane fuel cells) are typically about 50% efficient, so in other words, half the energy you put in as hydrogen you get back out as electricity. So it’s not bad. Car engines are less efficient than that. The big advantage of hydrogen fuel cells is not necessarily that they are more efficient than other ways of making energy (though they are in a good number of cases), but that the only waste they make is water; in other words, hydrogen fuel cells are a much cleaner way of making energy.
