• Question: do you do lots of explosions as a scientist

      I personally don’t do explosions myself. I’m not good at chemistry so I think if they put me in a lab with too many chemicals I might blow up the University by accident 😛

      I do however shoot proteins with X-ray beams and that can cause the crystal to break and turn black. The first image on my supervisor’s webpage shows what happens to a crystal when it has been blasted with X-rays: http://www.bioch.ox.ac.uk/aspsite/index.asp?pageid=578
