Norman Heatley was an amazing scientist, but very underappreciated. He was a biochemist at Cambridge University, and was part of the team who first tested penicillin in humans. He built this machine out of random junk that enabled him to grow and extract enough penicillin for the hospital tests – without him we probably wouldn’t have penicillin.

My favourite scientist would be Albert Einstein. A bit common I know but there’s a reason why he’s so well loved.

He was very smart and came up with theories that were amazing. Most people know him for his theory of relativity but in fact he won the Nobel prize in Physics (possibly the biggest award you can get in physics) for a completely different theory. So he was mega smart.

He was also really fun too. He didn’t want to conform to what the “typical scientist” was. He was a little crazy which was good. He also opposed to doing research for the war effort in World War 2 because he was against the war.

He was just an all round great guy 🙂
