      Here’s a great link: http://science.howstuffworks.com/magnet.htm. Magnets make magnetic fields – one end of the magnet is called a north pole, and the other end is a magnet called a south pole. The similar poles of two different magnets repel each other, whereas the opposite poles attract each other.
