All of this is possible in theory and so there’s no reason why you couldn’t do this. But practically this could be pretty hard.
Let’s think:
1) There’s less Gravity on the Moon so you’ll have to make the house with a lot of material so it has a big enough mass to stay fixed on the surface of the moon.
2) You’ll need a suit so that you have the right air to breath on the moon. Don’t forget the suit when you travel to the moon.
3) Building a tube that big is going to be a real challenge and then making sure it actually made it the moon. I’m not an engineer so I don’t know how you would do it to be honest.
But as I said, I can’t see a reason why it couldn’t be done 🙂
Yeah I think the tube would be the hardest part… Since the moon more or less circles the Earth (it’s an irregular circle, and the Earth also circles the moon a bit…details, details…), the tube would always come out in a different part of the globe. And you’d have to be able to pull it in to not hit satellites etc. And it would probably heat up like crazy when you lower it to the Earth because it’s circling through the atmosphere at a really high speed…
So yeah, not impossible but a bit of a challenge. :]
You could building something like the Great Glass Elevator from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl – then you could fly up and down easily! (Watch out for the vermicious knids though…)
